This page summarizes the intended author posting agreement. It is not a substitute for the executed agreement. The signed document for a paper controls when its terms differ from this summary.
Approval by every author
Before publication, every listed author must approve:
- the final title, author order, affiliations, abstract, manuscript, and public metadata;
- the paper’s working-paper status and public dissemination;
- the rights and license statements shown on the record;
- the data, code, ethics, conflict, and AI-use statements; and
- any later substantive revision submitted in the authors’ names.
The faculty sponsor confirms sponsorship separately and does not sign for an author.
Non-exclusive posting permission
Authors retain copyright unless a separate written agreement says otherwise. The executed agreement grants the Series and approved repository services non-exclusive permission sufficient to reproduce, display, distribute, preserve, and describe the approved manuscript and public metadata.
Non-exclusive permission means the authors may continue to share and pursue publication of their work, subject to another venue’s policies. Public posting can affect later-publication eligibility, so authors should consult their faculty sponsor and any intended journal before signing.
The agreement does not by itself identify UNLV, OAsis, or the Series as a legal publisher. For deposited papers, the Series designates the OAsis item record and deposited full text as its permanent repository record.
Author assurances
Authors confirm, to the best of their knowledge and supported by the submission records, that:
- the paper is original and authorship is accurate;
- all authors approve the submission;
- sources and prior versions are disclosed and cited appropriately;
- required third-party permissions have been obtained or the material has been removed;
- the public manuscript contains no unauthorized confidential, personally identifiable, FERPA-protected, contract-restricted, licensed, unlawfully obtained, or secret information;
- any required IRB approval or determination was obtained before the research began;
- material generative-AI use is accurately disclosed;
- conflicts, funding, data availability, and code availability are accurately stated; and
- the editable manuscript and PDF meet the applicable accessibility requirements or identified remediation conditions.
An editorial check is not legal advice, an IRB determination, a research-misconduct decision, or independent verification of the analysis. Authors remain responsible for the paper’s claims, citations, calculations, permissions, and conclusions.
Open access and reuse
Readers may access the published record without a Series paywall. Free access does not create a blanket reuse license. The copyright and license statement for the paper controls reuse.
Optional public profile information
A biography, photograph, personal profile link, and personal contact information are optional and require separate consent. Declining any of them does not affect manuscript publication. The posting agreement must not bundle optional profile consent into the permission required to publish the paper.
Corrections, revisions, and withdrawal
Authors agree to notify the Series of material errors and cooperate in a proportionate correction. A substantive revision requires author and faculty-sponsor approval plus the editorial approval defined in Corrections, Revisions & Versioning.
Signing the agreement does not guarantee that a paper will be accepted, remain unchanged, or be removed on request. Restrictions and withdrawals follow Expressions of Concern, Withdrawal & Takedown, applicable law and university policy, and OAsis authority for deposited records.
Records and questions
The signed agreement, author approvals, and supporting evidence are retained in the authorized private system under applicable UNLV and Nevada System of Higher Education records requirements. They are not stored in public Git.
For agreement, rights, or posting questions, use the Contact page before signing or sending sensitive material.
